Air Fryer Nachos

Air fryer nachos are a quick and easy snack, filled with ingredients you’ll likely have on hand!

Do you have an air fryer yet?

If not, you need one. Seriously. Stat.

Here’s an opinion some people just don’t want to hear, but difficult things must be said too. My air fryer changed my life more than my Instant Pot ever did.

This little oven has found a permanent spot in my very limited counter space for no other reason than that it totally rocks.

This air fryer nachos recipe is dedicated to my air fryer.

Tips + Tricks

No. 1 –> Many recipes recommend lining the base of your air fryer basket with tin foil or spraying with cooking oil. Me? Well… I use a springform pan. It fits perfectly in my basket and when I”m ready to serve I just remove the ring and we have a perfect plate’o nachos!

No. 2 –> Got a lot of kids? Need a lot of nachos? This is the perfect recipe for you! Set up your toppings like a nacho bar. Allow the kids to build their own plate of loaded nachos and cook each batch on their own!

No. 3 —> These nachos cook FAST! You’ll need to keep a closer eye on them than oven-baked nachos.

Key Ingredients

Tortilla chips: Use your favorite tortilla chips for this recipe. We are a Tostitos Scoops family, we love that they’re like a little bowl holding in all the goodies.

Cheese: The best cheese for nachos is actually a mix of cheese. I love to use a mix of cheddar cheese and monterey jack cheese. Sometimes, if I’ve got a block of mozzarella in the fridge I’ll add some of that too!

Veggies: I actually love to pile my nachos with fresh veggies before cooking. The resulting nachos have tender-crisp veg, and it’s just so good! Many people add black beans to their nachos, and I love to as well, however, my husband hates beans of any kind, so I skip them for him!

Meat: You can always use flavored ground beef for this recipe, but I find that nachos are a great place to use your leftovers. If you’re like us and have a freezer filled with leftover smoked meat, you’ll love using them in your nachos. Try smoked brisket, smoked pulled pork, smoked chicken breast, and even smoked roast beef!

How To Make Air Fryer Nachos

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Meanwhile, prepare an 8″ springform pan by lining the base with a piece of parchment paper or aluminum foil.
  3. Then layer the nachos on top of the parchment paper. If using Tostitos Scoops, layer them in a single layer, then add desired toppings to each Scoop, then top with shredded cheese. If using regular nachos, they can be made with a layer of tortilla chips, toppings, and cheese. Followed by another layer of chips, toppings, and cheese.
  4. Cook the nachos in the air fryer for 3-5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the nachos are hot throughout.
  5. Remove the springform pan from the air fryer, unclip the ring and slide the nachos onto a serving plate.

Batch + Storage Information

Batch:

Each springform pan full makes enough nachos for 2 people, or one really hungry person! If you need more nachos than that, have each person build their own nachos and bake them each their own batch!

Storage:

If you’ve got leftover nachos, simply allow them to cool to room temperature then store them in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 3 days. When ready to eat, preheat the air fryer to 350f, and reheat nachos in the air fryer for 3-5 minutes!

Recommened Equipment

Air fryer: We have, and love an INSTANT VORTEX 6QT AIR FRYER. It’s an amazing little unit that earned a permanent place on my counter! We use it for so many more things than I would have ever thought.
