Get rid of that store-bought hot chocolate mix, and make your own! Not only is it incredibly easy, but it's also so delicious. This hot chocolate mix makes great gifts too!
Working in 2 batches, add half of each ingredient to the bowl of your food processor or blender. Process until completely combined.
Combine both batches in a large bowl and stir until completely combined.
Transfer to mason jars for storage or gifting
how to make hot chocolate from mix
Stir 2 tablespoons of mix per cup of heated milk.
Top with dehydrated mini marshmallows, whipping cream, or frothed milk for an extra delicious treat.//TIP// When whipping up a cup of hot chocolate, I like to add the powder first, then a bit of the hot milk and whisk until completely combined, before whisking in the remaining liquid, this prevents floating hot chocolate bombs.
Notes
storage
This hot chocolate mix will keep for longer than it lasts! Keep it in an airtight container, I use mason jars, for up to 6 months.
Adapt to your taste:
This recipe as written is silky, smooth, creamy, and slightly bitter. If you prefer a sweeter chocolate flavor, simply add more powdered sugar. Test your batch right while it's in the food processor stage to prevent clean up, then re-mess!
