gather ingredients: - sugar - butter -eggs -molasses - spices - baking soda - flour

cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy - about 1 - 2 minutes.

add in eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition

add in molasses, spices, and baking soda. Beat until completely combined

add in flour slowly, mixing on low until completely combined. 

scoop the ginger snap cookie dough, then roll into balls.

roll each cookie ball into granulated sugar or sanding sugar. Then place on a baking sheet.

bake ginger snap cookies at 375f for 8- 12 minutes depending on desired doneness.

cool on baking sheet for ~5 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
