Double Chocolate Sourdough Babka

Build the dough by combining milk, yeast, oil, sourdough starter, egg, flour, sugar, and salt.

After a 30 minute rest, knead the dough by hand or with a mixer for 2-3 minutes.

Over the next 2 hours, perform a stretch and fold every 45 minutes or so.

Roll the dough into a large rectangle, and slice into 2 pieces.

Spread with butter chocolate sauce, then sprinkle with grated milk chocolate.

Roll each half into a log lengthwise, pinching together the ends and the overlap

Slice in each log in half, then begin weaving the knot

Tuck in the loose ends.

Transfer to a baking dish and sprinkle with more grated milk chocolate. Cover and place in the fridge to rise overnight.

Bake at 375f for 25 minutes, then reduce heat to 350f and bake for 3 more minutes.
