This easy smoked side dish recipe is a winner in our house. Between the hint of smoke, rich and salty bacon, and slight crunch of the sprouts, it's always the that's got everyone jockeying for the first (and last) scoop.

Coarsely chop bacon and render in a cast iron skillet until about half cooked.

Slice off the ends of the sprouts, slice in half, then remove outside leaves.

Place sprouts facedown in skillet and sear using the rendered bacon fat.

Return bacon to the skillet and add 1 tablespoon of bbq rub to the skillet. Toss to coat.

Smoke at 225f for 40-45 minutes, tossing once or twice.
