Easy Homemade Cranberry Sauce

gather ingredients: - cranberries - brown sugar - navel orange - cinnamon stick

rinse berries under cool water, discard any bruised or damaged berries. Place in a medium pot and set aside.

zest the orange and divide it in to two portions.

juice the entire orange into the pot with the cranberries.

add half of the orange zest, brown sugar, and a cinnamon stick to the pot

bring the cranberries to a low boil and once they start to burst open, reduce heat.

keep simmering for another 10 minutes until all the berries have burst and the sauce thickens

stir in the remaining orange zest and remove the cinnamon stick.

Transfer to a serving dish and allow to cool for at least 30 minutes before serving.
