GOT LEFTOVERS?? Use the leaner, flat side of the brisket to make this amazing smoked brisket chili!
2 tablespoon olive oil or lard 2 onions, diced 5 cloves of garlic, minced 1 jalapeno, or more if you like it spicier! 1 tablespoon cumin 1 tablespoon chili powder 1 tablespoon paprika 1 teaspoon cinnamon (optional) 3-4 cups of leftover smoked brisket, coarsely chopped 5 oz tomato paste 1/2 cup strong coffee 1 can Rotel tomatoes, original (10 oz ) 1 can diced tomatoes (14.5 oz) 1 can tomato sauce (8 oz)
sautee diced onion, celery, garlic and jalapeno in oil.
add spices & tomato paste. cook until darkened & fragrant
add coffee and allow to simmer for a few minutes - use the coffee to deglaze the pot.
simmer on low for at least 30 mintues
