We have a show in Canada called Dragon’s Den. I think it’s actually a Canadian version of Shark Tank. Anyways, I was watching it one day and there was a cereal on it. It was called Holy Crap. No, I’m not lying. Click the link! I know it was a rerun. No, I don’t know why I was watching a rerun. But am I ever glad I did!
This cereal is gluten free, nut free, vegan, dairy free, egg free, high in iron, high in Omegas, high in fibre and requires no cooking. I know. Super cereal. Amirite?
I had to try it. So I was on the hunt, but then I saw a bag of Skinny B in the store. I fell in love with the name. So I bought it. Then I fell in love with the product. I was using it mixed with almond milk, blended into smoothies, sprinkled on salads. I was using it a lot. And then I ran out.
My story does not end here, my friends. Oh no, it does not. I have a well stocked pantry filled with all sorts of goodies. I had chia, I had hemp, and for some reason, I had buckwheat. Oh yeah! So I made my own superfood cereal. And you should too!
To serve, mix 3 tbsp with 1/2 cup of non dairy milk and let it sit for a few minutes to thicken. Sprinkle over salads. Add a couple tablespoons to the blender when making smoothies.
- ½ cup hemp hearts
- ⅓ cup chia seeds
- ⅓ cup buckwheat
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- Scrapings from 1 vanilla bean
- Combine all ingredients in an airtight jar.
- Store in the fridge.
