I’ve been using coconut oil as a carrier oil with my Young Living essential oils since I first started using them a year ago! Somewhere along the way, I cannot for the life of me remember which wonderful blog, I saw whipped coconut oil. I thought it was silly. But then I really thought about it.
Coconut oil is a solid a room temperature, and only turns softer under a couple extra degrees heat. With that knowledge, let me remind you that I live in the Northern Alberta Tundra. Okay, not that far north, but I still live in Northern Alberta. The temperatures around here for the last 2 weeks have been below -25C. With wind-chills in the -40Cs. FOR 2 WEEKS! Needless to say, even though my furnace is set to damn warm, it’s still only room temperature. My coconut oil maintains it’s firm texture.
Enter whipped coconut oil. It’s always soft! It’s like magic!
Oh. And, it’s incredibly easy to make. Double magic!
I use this whipped coconut oil every day. In my Chemical Free Moisturizer, as a blending oil, in capsules, when I oil the kids, when Kevin’s neck injury bothers him and he want’s me to rub it with PanAway. Coconut oil is also wonderful as the base to lotions, hair care products and other DIY beauty hacks!
